We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all panel members. We recognise that individuals may have diverse needs and requirements, and we are dedicated to providing reasonable adjustments to support participation in the REF process.
What are reasonable adjustments?
Reasonable adjustments are modifications or changes to the usual way of doing things that help ensure individuals with disabilities or specific needs are not substantially disadvantaged. These adjustments can be made to various aspects of the REF process, including the following:
- Application process: alternative formats for application materials, or adjustments to the application process itself
- Panel meetings and events: accessible venues, provision of assistive technology, sign language interpreters, or adjustments to meeting schedules and formats
- Working arrangements: flexible working hours, different participation options, or provision of specific equipment or support
How to request reasonable adjustments
If you require reasonable adjustments to participate in the REF 2029 panels, please contact the REF team directly at info@ref.ac.uk. We will work with you to understand your requirements and make appropriate arrangements.
Confidentiality
All requests for reasonable adjustments will be treated confidentially. Information about your needs will only be shared with those involved in facilitating your participation and will not be used for any other purpose.
Our commitment
We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all REF panel members. We encourage you to discuss your needs with us so we can work together to ensure your full participation in this important process.
