The information submitted here will be used in REF events related to the delivery of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029.
This information includes names, contact details, job title, company name and limited special category information to support your attendance at the event (including dietary requirements, and any accessibility needs). We value your feedback and use it to guide our development efforts. To enhance our initiatives, we will collect questions and feedback from participants at selected events. Where relevant, an anonymised and summarised version of this information will be published. Otherwise, all other data will be deleted 30 days after the event.
When relevant, some events may be recorded and published on the relevant REF 2029 digital platform(s). When recording, participants will be notified in advance and at the start of the event. If you do not wish to be recorded, please contact the REF team to discuss opt-out options.
We will process your information to facilitate the following, related to REF events:
- communications related to event management
- registration
- managing interactions (including Q&A)
- feedback and surveys
- accessibility needs
- venue or platform arrangements
- dietary requirements
- printing of personalised documentation
- organisation of planned activities
The information is obtained by UKRI in their capacity of public authority. Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information are ‘to provide services to carry out our public task’, and ‘explicit consent’ as outlined in the UK GDPR.
Collected data will be viewed by members of staff from UKRI (Research England), the Scottish Funding Council, Medr, the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research, and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland and external colleagues employed to support this work.
All personal data provided to UKRI in connection with REF events will be managed in line with the current UK data protection legislation. Further information on how we use personal data, and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject, can be found in UKRI’s privacy notice.
